MoC Officer Guide

MoC Badge of Office

Thank you for becoming a Minister of Children!

Youth activities are offered for many reasons. Sometimes we are trying to develop a habit for children to pursue an interest in arts and sciences. Perhaps they are offered because some are often left to wander unattended at events or need some structured activity to keep them safe and supervised. Some people even organize these activities because they just like kids. Whatever the reasons are, being responsive to our youth is an important aspect of living the dream in the Society for Creative Anachronism and children need the support of the populace to meet this challenge.

I'm here to help you! If your local group does not have an MoC or cannot bear the cost of supplies, just let me know. My office will supply you with a starter kit with enough materials to get you going and even arrange for someone to handle activities for the event.

Let's see what we can achieve together!

If you are interested in becoming an MoC for your group, just let your Seneschal know. Then, email your Regional MoC. They are:

Usually, this requires you to put in a bid or application for the office. This bid must go to your regional with a copy going to your local Seneschal. Once you have put in your bid, you will receive a form to complete your background check. Once you have received word that you have passed the background check and that your bid was accepted, you will need to do the following:

  1. Join the MoC Facebook Group
  2. Introduce yourself.
  3. Check out the files sections of the Facebook Group.
  4. If you need help with anything, let me know. I can help you plan or come to your event and help out if you need me.
  5. Submit your quarterly report every three months. Due dates are listed on the Facebook Group.

My contact information can be found in the Black Star, newsletter for the Kingdom of Ansteorra.

New Facebook Group for Parents A new Facebook Group was created for Ansteorran parents. This group is for parents all over the Kingdom to come together and exchange ideas. You do not have to be an official member to join. All those parents and caregivers who are interested in talking with other parents about children's issues within Ansteorra are welcome to join.

MoC and Coordinator Facebook Group All MoCs and Children's Coordinators are incouraged to join the Ansteorra MoC Facebook Group. This group is a great forum for the officers to ask questions and get to know each other. There are also photos, files, and all sorts of goodies for you. For more information on this group, contact the Kingdom MoC.

New Regions We now have three regions and all have a regional officer. For more info, check out the Officers Page.

MoCs Needed If you are interested in helping our children grow within our great Society, please let us know. You will have to be a member and have a background check. If you are interested, please contact your Regional MoC.

Badge Program I have heard a question repeated from several people. What happened to the Badge Program? Well, the Badge Program was started some years ago, but it never really got off the ground. Recently, Lord Ivan Eriksson took the program and reworked it. He did an amazing job. It is now part of the Ansteorran Page School. For more information, please contact the Kingdom MoC.

Page School Now Open The Page School Program is for children ages 5 to 17. The Page School is full of resources (such as the Badge Program) for our children, parents, and children's activity coordinators. For more information, please contact the Kingdom MoC, Lady Ceara inghean mhic an Ghabhann.
